Jamie Laval's music making is born out of his Scottish and Irish heritage. One of the premier Celtic violinists on the international music scene today, he consistently creates rapt audiences with his intensely passionate performances that run the gamut from tender and melancholy to wildly jubilant. Winner of the 2002 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Championship, Jamie was recently heralded in Scotland as “A new star for the Old World ” (FiddleOn Magazine). The Olympian newspaper reported, “A fantastic fiddler…"

Ashley Broder hails from Camarillo , CA and is a two-time winner of the Western Open Master Picker Championship. Whether it be a virtuoso mandolin solo break, a languorous 'cello line, a fancifully crafted original composition, or a clear-toned tune from her fiddle, her music spins out like a sinuous ribbon of pure fun. Ashley routinely forays into blues, jazz, bluegrass, Old-time, Irish, classical, and Brazilian music. www.jamielaval.com

The Clarridge Fiddlers are brother and sister Tashina and Tristan. Tashina Clarridge is the current Grand National Fiddle Champion, a 6-time Grand National finalist, 6-time California State fiddle champion, and 2-time Western Open Grand Champion. Tristan is talented multi-instrumentalist and the youngest person ever to win the Grand National Fiddle Championships, successfully achieving that title for three years consecutively. http://www.clarridgefiddlers.com/

The Haas Sisters are Natalie and Britany. Cellist Natalie Haas studied at the Juilliard School . Her passion is Scottish traditional music and has toured with her mentor-turned-music partner, renowned Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser. Their duo CD, Fire and Grace, was named album of the year at the annual Scots Trad Music Awards in Edinburgh last month. Brittany is also classically trained but quick to call herself a fiddler, not a violinist. Her love is a type of folk music called "old-time," replete with Southern Appalachian tunes from North Carolina and Kentucky and tinged with Celtic and African influences. http://www.nataliehaas.com/ and http://www.brittanyhaas.com/

Sisters Morales is a rockin' Texas -based musical group comprised of sisters Lisa and Roberta Morales. They were born into a Mexican-American family in Tucson, Arizona . Their style is a unique mix of rock , mariachi , and country sung in Spanish and English. Lisa and Roberta are accomplished musicians and songwriters, each reflecting what she has gone though in her life, and both voices are very different, but their harmonies are strong and tight and sound as if they're made up of the same voice. The talents of their band members round out the Sisters' sound. David Spencer is one of Texas ' finest guitar players. He also plays steel guitar and trades mariachi-style leads on acoustic with Roberta. Vicente Rodriguez keeps the backbeat solid and also adds percussion. Bassist Cornbread adds to the bottom end. The Sisters have built quite a following. Their performances are always described as "energetic, emotional and rockin." http://www.sistersmorales.com/

AT MISSION CITY COFFEE ROASTING CO.

2221 The Alameda, Santa Clara, CA 95050
call 831-475-4938 or email Brundle@attglobal.net

Tony Furtado grew up in Pleasanton, Ca. He took up the banjo at 12 and by 19 had won the major US competitions and was a member of Laurie Lewis’ band (Grant Street). At the same time, but separately, he was developing himself into an equally virtuosic slide guitarist, and eventually also joined the ranks of accomplished singer- songwriters. Now in his mid-thirties, he plays in many configurations and genres (and has many CDs to show for this), with influences ranging from Ry Cooder, Richard Thompson, and Bonnie Rait, through to traditional Appalachian, field hollers, acoustic blues and Irish music.http://www.tonyfurtado.com/

..once more demonstrates that he is not only a jack of all trades, but is also their master.” - Vintage Guitar

..easily holds the spotlight, thanks to his restrained virtuosity on acoustic and slide guitar and a warmly engaging voice…” - PASTE magazine

As an aside, Tony is responsible for initiating the Fiddling Cricket Concert Series, at a house concert in 1995, with an experimental instrumental group (String Shop) consisting of Tony (banjo), Mike Marshall (mandolin), Scott Nygaard (guitar) , Todd Phillips (double bass), and Darol Anger (fiddle)!
