Contact Fiddling Cricket at 408 499 9441 or crbrundle@gmail.comBob Cheevers songwriting career goes back a long way. Further than July 1998, when he played for Fiddling Cricket in San Jose. Then he was based in Nashville, had won the Kerrville Folk songwriting competition, and was touring in support of CD, From Gettysburg to Graceland, a thematic collection of songs about the history of the south.
20 years later he moved to Austin, feeling that being in the company of the artists there would increase his creative freedom. Apparently this was true, as his first CD from there, Tall Texas Tales won him the 2011 Texas Music Academy songwriter of the year award. His newest album, his 10th, just released, is On Earth as it is in Austin. He has toured Europe for many years, becoming somewhat of a cult favorite there. The inspiration for all his rootsy blues flavored material is a mixture of the rich southern heritage that comes from growing up in Memphis, plus his current time in Austin. http://www.bobcheevers.com/

Contact Fiddling Cricket at 408 499 9441 or crbrundle@gmail.comCruz Control started out as a Santa Cruz ukulele group, but quickly expanded into a multi-genre force. Consisting of Stan Parola, Gary Cunningham, and Vince Tuzzi this trio, with about 150 combined years of performing experience (nearly all of it as area residents), has everything needed to keep you entertained. Performing almost entirely covers, they stamp their own creative mark on tunes from a wide variety of genres and performers . from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neil Young, Hank Williams, and Guy Clark to The Beatles, J.J. Cale, and Roy Orbison, and on .
Multi-instrumentalist Stan Parola (guitars, uke, banjulele and harmonica), played in garage bands early in life. He currently plays in two other Santa Cruz bands (Island Breeze and Danceland) and particularly likes to perform Neil Young songs. Gary Cunningham started when The Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show and has held down the bass line for many bluegrass and country bands. Currently, in addition to Cruz Control, he is a member of Still Searchin and the Swirly Girls. Vince Tuzzi, singer and guitarist, started his professional career as lead singer in the Lee Riders playing up and down the length of the San Joaquin valley in the mid 60s, before moving to Santa Cruz in the 70s where he switched to solo performing with an acoustic guitar. He is also well-known as the Singing Santa (no make-up actually required!) making guest appearances in many music shows at holiday time, and, to round it all out, is a purveyor of excellent hot dogs as owner of the Paradise Dogs stand on the Santa Cruz Wharf (where the band played for that structures 100th Anniversary). www.vincetuzzi.com
