The band consists of Sherry Austin on rhythm guitar and vocals, Sharon Allen on vocals and guitar, Tracy Parker on bass and vocals, and Santa Cruz steel legend, Patti Maxine on lap steel, dobro, and vocals. Their music covers the range from sweet love songs to gritty, rockin' songs about cars, trains, and love gone wrong. It consists of originals by Sherry and Sharon, as well as much loved covers by Americana artists, such as Kate Wolf, Townes Van Zandt, and Nanci Griffith. They are long time favorites of Fiddling Cricket audiences, having played for us since their inception in 2002. The band consists of Waybacks cofounder and original guitarist, Glenn Houston; the vocals and guitar of Travis Jones; Henry Salvia on keyboard and accordion, Chris Kee on standup bass and Peter Tucker on percussion (both also former members of the Waybacks).Though all the band members are resident in the Bay Area, they originate from all over the US and have about 150 years of collective professional music experience! Her music is classified as Americana, combining a blend of classic country, gypsy jazz, rockabilly, and southern soul. She has appeared in the movies Walk The Line, Black Snake Moan and A Fine Step . Carolyn Sills writes and performs original music with guitarist Gerard Egan. They are heavily influenced by their vinyl record collection and enjoy performing western music - western swing, country western, west coast blues, spaghetti westerns and more. The long version: Jack's bio in itself is amazing, with a 54 year career playing folk, rock jazz, R and B, classical and popular music from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. In the 60's he was a hired gun guitarist/ band leader for John Lee Hooker, Hank Ballard, and the Shirelles, amongst others. Up to the 80's he played jazz trumpet and classical guitar, while also fronting a series of original rock bands as an electric guitarist. Since the 60's he has toured as a solo troubadour. His songs have been recorded by others ranging from Tom Jones to Tom Paxton. At times he has teamed up with other great singers - the late Harry Nilsson in 1973 and until 2002 with his friend, the late Mickey Newberry.
