The husband and wife duo of Curtis Teague and Loretta Simonet, from Minneapolis are "old school" folkies. They deliver finely honed vocal harmonies and have abundant talent on an array of stringed instruments (mandocello, mandolin, Celtic harp, guitar, uke, and banjo). Their traditional roots are deep, based in the English folk form, though much of their material is original and contemporary. They have been singing and playing together ever since a chance meeting on a Santa Cruz beach in 1977, where Loretta was practicing guitar for a variety show. They have 9 CD's, have shared the stage with many folk luminaries over the years, and have been voted "Best Acoustic Performers in The Twin Cities" in the past. Though this is their first California tour for many years, they used to play regularly in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz areas, and were one of the first acts to play for Fiddling Cricket some 20 years ago. www.curtisandloretta.com

"Loretta's almost operatic alto and Curtis' rich tenor form a lush, polished, and varied vocal blend…."- Dirty Linen

"...acoustic virtuosity on guitar, Celtic harp, mandolin…." - Dirty Linen

"Simonet's vocals are heartrenderingly lovely…" - The A List, City Pages (Minneapolis)

Their combination of traditional bluegrass music, country-style blues, honky tonk, and classical influences hits home with a wide audience and has made the group a perfect fit for festivals, markets, churches, barn dances, farm tours, clubs, breweries, and and private parties throughout California and beyond.. The players–Erin Valdivia on vocals and guitar, Cristy Aloysi on vocals, mandolin and guitar, Sarah Farrell Mackessey on vocals and bass, and Alison Steele on vocals and banjo were classically trained musicians as well as campfire poets prior to forming the band. Le Jazz Hot (the Quartet of the Hot Club of San Francisco) is an ensemble of accomplished and versatile musicians celebrating the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli's pioneering Hot Club de France. The ensemble borrows the all-string instrumentation of violin, bass and guitars from the original Hot Club, but breathes new life into the music with innovative arrangements of classic tunes and original compositions from the group's superb lead guitarist Paul Mehling. Hearing the ensemble live, or on any of their eleven albums, carries the listener back to the 1930's and to the small, smoky jazz clubs of Paris or the refined lounges of the famous Hotel Ritz. Often called gypsy jazz, the music of Le Jazz Hot has entranced audiences around the globe for over 20 years. Critics have hailed the group's playing as “intricate, scorching and often brilliant---” - Acoustic Guitar. From festivals in Mexico and France to concert halls across North America, Le Jazz Hot keeps this historic music fresh and alive.http://www.lejazzhot.biz

Rachael & The Hot French Strings: Direct from Bordeaux. http//www.rachaelmagidsonjazz.com

A certain sweetness, delicate and light with accoustic warmth. The tone is playful , given by the dynamics of the violin and his exchanges with the guitar, Rachael lays her very pretty voice on top and we let ourselves be taken away Action Jazz January 2016

---frighteningly hedonistic impact---Magidson is one of those song stylists---that pretty much has her way with you emotionally. You could easily succumb to a state of bewitched, bothered bewildermentCJ Bond Jazz Music Review
