The next generation of bluegrass is here: The Tuttles with AJ Lee! This young, super talented band is composed of singers and multi-instrumentalists who have been playing music since they were barely old enough to hold a pick. The band has received numerous awards: Best Band for two years in a row from The Northern California Bluegrass Society; Molly Tuttle voted Best Guitarist, Michael Tuttle the Best Mandolin Player, and Jack Tuttle the Best Fiddler. Best Vocalist awards went to AJ Lee in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and Molly in 2012. This band receives standing ovations wherever they play because of their youthful, vibrant performances of old traditional tunes and tasteful new originals.http://www.thetuttleswithajlee.com

Pete Wernick, Hot Rize, "A.J. Lee and Molly Tuttle are the kind of singers who can bring you into a song, and create a duet blend that makes the senses stand at attention. Molly's younger brothers, Sullivan and Michael, are playing strong and agile leads. Jack Tuttle, one of the most respected music teachers in Northern California, helps bluegrass take root in the next generation.

Claudia Russell, now from the Berkeley area, but LA and Boston before that, is a gifted singer, guitarist, and award-winning songwriter, who performs with her husband, Bruce Kaplan (mandolin, guitar and vocals). They present an eclectic blend woven from blues, country, pop and traditional music forms. Claudia has a remarkably expressive and powerful voice and is equally at home with a whispery soulful ballad as a full-throated big stage musical. Together they have played, for many years, all over the US at major folk festivals and clubs, and Claudia recently released her 4th CD.

"….a vocalist in the old fashioned sense. She can really sing. Not only does she have an impressive set of pipes, she interprets songs rather than merely conveying the lyrics…" -Rich Warren, Sing Out Magazine

As an interesting side-bar, and perhaps the reason Claudia's vocal ability is no great surprise, is that her father was Val Rosing, a prolific vocalist in the British Big Dance Band era, made forever famous as the vocalist on the 1930's BBC Orchestra's original recording (and million copy seller) of "The Teddy Bear's Picnic". www.ClaudiaRussell.com

Since 2004, Americana trio Red Molly has been bringing audiences to their feet with gorgeous three-part harmonies, crisp musicianship, and their warm, engaging stage presence. The band consists of Laurie MacAllister (bass, banjo), Abbie Gardner (dobro, banjo) and Molly Venter (guitar). All three are outstanding lead vocalists. Last year, the ladies were invited to open multiple shows for music legend Willie Nelson and they performed at the venerable RockyGrass festival in CO. Their new CD, Light in the Sky, spent 20 weeks on the Americana Music Association's Top 40 radio chart and charted as Folk DJ's #3 Top Album of 2012. In 2013, they toured Australia, and visited Europe for the first time, for Denmark's Tonder Festival. They have also been invited to appear for the third time at NC's legendary music gathering, MerleFest. http://www.redmolly.com/

They also appeared for a fourth time at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, where last time the Bristol Herald Courier dubbed Red Molly "The Twin City's sweethearts", saying the band "lit up the stage, as a massive crowd of adoring fans sat mesmerized by their silky smooth harmonies and superb musicianship."

This is a trio Fiddling Cricket has wanted to book for several years, and failed. We are delighted to be able to join with Snazzy Productions in presenting this show

Singer, guitarist, and song sleuth Sylvia Herold (formerly of the very popular Cats & Jammers and the Hot Club of San Francisco, and currently with Euphonia and Wake The Dead) masterfully mines the motherlode of American jazz and popular song from the 1930s through the 1960s, from the smooth West Coast jazz of June Christy to the smoky and sassy Peggy Lee. With a voice the San Francisco Examiner has hailed as "mesmerizing," Herold will surprise and delight you with her wide-ranging song choices and her sheer class. Chuck Ervin joins her on plucked and bowed double bass. sylviaherold.com
