Wikipedia: He started his career busking on Berkeley, California's famous Telegraph Avenue in the early 1960s. Country Joe still lives in Berkeley . Country Joe has recorded 33 albums and has written hundreds of songs over a career spanning 40 years. He and Barry Melton co-founded Country Joe & the Fish which became a pioneer psychedelic rock band with their eclectic performances at The Avalon Ballroom, the Fillmore, Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock. Their best-known song is his The "Fish" Cheer / I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag, a black comedy novelty song about the Vietnam War, whose familiar chorus ("One, two, three, what are we fighting for?") is well known to the Woodstock generation and Vietnam Vets of the 1960s and 1970s. He is also known for The Fish Cheer which was a cheerleader-style call-and-response with the audience where Joe spelled out "fish" ("Give me an F!"). The cheer was on the original recording of the I-Feel-Like-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die, being played right before the song on the LP of the same name.www.countryjoe.com

Don Burnham is well-known as the rhythm guitarist/vocalist and bandleader of the mighty Lost Weekend Western Swing ensemble, an outfit that has graced our stage several times over the years. His recent original tunes have sparked national interest (Driving Lesson - Car Talk NPR) and Apple and Google and Gold is a YouTube hit (known as the Wall Street Waltz, it should probably be termed the Wall Street Blues. It's a great song, particularly for now). Don's compadres in the Bolos trio are Karen Horner, bass player extraordinaire, with a broad background in all styles, including jazz and classical music, and Charlie Wallace, who is at equally at ease on both steel and standard guitar. http://www.donburnham.com/

Ray Bierl (fiddle, guitar, vocals) is part of The Hillbillies from Mars, the well-known contra-dance and concert band, opens here for the Bolos. He also plays as a member of Swing Farm. His first solo CD in 30 years of performing, "Any Place I Hang My Hat" was released last year, with a ringing endorsement from Tom Waits. http://www.raybierl.com

"No one knows how to weave you a song quite like Ray Bierl" - Tom Waits

Houston Jones plus Bob Livingson

The new Houston Jones new CD is "Calico Heart". In a review of their previous CD "Three Crow Town" , Jim Lee of Dirty Linen said "….Houston Jones. You might be thinking, "yet another singer/songwriter," but, boy, would you be wrong. In reality, it's a high-energy quintet of acoustic musicians from the San Francisco Bay area who play an original blend of folk, blues, bluegrass, and gospel. The name comes from members Glenn " Houston " Pomianek (lead guitar) and Travis Jones (lead vocals, guitar), who are joined by Chris Kee (acoustic bass), Peter Tucker (drums). Both Pomianek and Kee were founding members of the Waybacks, and Tucker also passed through the ranks of that group. What separates Houston Jones from similar bands, though, is the high quality of the songwriting, with great hooks, melodies, and compelling lyrics - Very highly recommended! http://www.houstonjones.com

Bob Livingston has never been a traditional Texas country musician living the honky-tonk life even though he has spent more than his share of time on the roadhouse circuit with some of Texas ' most colorful musicians. Livingston grew up in Lubbock and moved to Austin in 1971 after playing on Michael Murphey's album Geronimo's Cadillac. Livingston quickly hooked up with Jerry Jeff Walker and joined his band. They toured and recorded several albums including the 1973's quintessential progressive country rock album, Viva Terlingua! In 1974, Livingston, Gary Nunn and John Inmon founded the Lost Gonzo Band and between tours for Walker , found time to record two records for MCA (Lost Gonzo Band and Thrills) and one for Capitol (Signs of Life). Rolling Stone called the Gonzo's self titled debut record, "one of the best albums to ever come out of Austin ." Bob's Latest CD is Original Spirit. http://www.texasmusic.org/bob_livingston.php

Corky Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world's great blues harmonica masters. He is a composer, blues pianist, singer / songwriter, and recent winner of the Lila Wallace/Reader's Digest/Meet the Composer's national award for chamber music composition. Corky Siegel 's career began with a fortunate break when he formed the legendary Siegel-Schwall Band that toured the major rock palaces and clubs in the 60's and 70's. He was introduced to the blues through his very first steady engagement at Peppers the internationally renowned blues club where his job included performances with the blues masters themselves, such as Willie Dixon, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, and Howlin' Wolf.www.chamberblues.com

"For groups like the Rolling Stones -- names like Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf were exotic inspirations. For Siegel-Schwall they were the guys that played with them on 43rd Street ." - Lin Brehmer - Music Director WXRT radio.

"So where have they been hiding James Lee Stanley ? We could say that James Lee Stanley is probably the last great undiscovered singer-songwriter in America . But true as that may be let's say something else, let's say that a diamond has been smuggled into the really. With James Lee you get great songs, great guitar playing, great voice and a gifted comedian as well. You are in for a very entertaining evening." Village Voice www.jamesleestanley.com
